As the philosopher said, it’s not so much what we don’t know that’s the problem, it’s what we know that’s wrong. Drilling for energy has been expensive and pretty nasty for the environment even before the threat of global warming was known – now it’s potentially disastrous for the planet (and us). But an MIT professor believes that drilling – for warmth – may save us, while providing more energy than we could possibly use.
