We ate at Quince, on Octavia at Bush Street in San Francisco, last week. There were five of us, and we’re all the type who share food. It’s a pretty hoity-toity restaurant, the type where when your entrees come they mobilize enough waiters with your food so all the plates hit the table at the same time. And I’m sure it didn’t help in the attitude department that some magazine recently said it was the best restaurant in the City. We sat down at about 10pm, because that was the only reservation we could get on a Thursday night. They claimed they’d called one of us earlier that evening to say they could seat us before 10, but we didn’t get the message. Besides, we were at Enrico’s enjoying Jerry’s new “Bitter Delight” cocktail, that he won an Italian cocktail competition with, in Italy!

In sum, the food was great, the service very good. I’ll expand this later, but for now let’s just say ****1/2 (out of five).
